African fabric separates
This client had some beautiful cotton chintz with a damask weave and an intricate print of silver and gold scrolling filigree, which had been bought for her by her husband.
She wanted a dramtic outfit to wear at a family gathering that would show off the pattern of the fabric.
She settled on a separate skirt and top, with a wrap-style top and dramatic sash bow, that could be worn separately with trousers or a different skirt.
The skirt was deliberately full to show as much of the fabric as possible, and she chose a high-low hemline so her shoes could also be seen.
The final effect, when worn together, looks like a bold statement dress, but has all the flexibility of being worn again for different occasions as spearate pieces.
