Catherine had a beautiful Stephanie Allin dress from a sample sale, shown in the second picture below, which she wanted altered and remodelled.

The appliquéd vine motif was carefully removed, and the tulle 'T-shirt' detached. The bodice was reshaped to give an enhanced bust line, cut lower under the arms to fasten low on the back. 

The vine motif was reattached with handstitching to give lighter coverage across the front neckline, and the surplus arranged in trailing strands, creating interest on the back of the dress. 

Finally, the silk satin underskirt and silk chiffon top layer were both shortened across the front to be the perfect length, whilst leaving a small train for drama.

A beautiful, romantic effect.
